Luthorian officials have stated that the Luthorian government had successfully reached an agreement with the Government in Sholemberg over the potential basing of Luthorian naval vessels in the area. 

Defence Secretary Peterson had indicated that Luthori entered negotiations with their government in 5714.  

“We are obviously very happy with how the negotiations were conducted, both parties agreed to the protocols laid forward by both governments in order to ensure a smooth collaboration between Luthorian military forces and civil authorities on the field.” one high-ranking Luthorian diplomat in Yishelem commented. 

Details of the agreement weren’t released to the public as of now, the Luthorian military preferring to remain “cautious” and “silent” in its communication – according to a military expert. 

“The Imperial Luthorian Armed Forces obviously aim at making Sholemberg the baseline of future Luthorian strategy in both Majatra and the Far East.” Brad Cooper said. He added that “Sholemberg represents a new, very important milestone in the Imperial Navy’s power projection capabilities, one deep rooted in MATO’s joint framework rather than independent.” 

“It does represent a very important milestone in our quest for global security, and we thank Sholemberg for their willingness and understanding of Luthorian security interests.” the Chief of the Defence Staff, General Craig Pennyworth stated. “Our base in Sholemberg will act the main base of operations for further Luthorian deployment in the area, alongside our allies – in a respectful and collaborative manner.” 

Luthorian plans related to the new HMNB Sholemberg aren’t yet known, although, one clear ambition of the Luthorians is to center the creation of a “Southern Fleet” centered around Sholemberg and the Migrants’ Pass to alleviate the mission of the current Luthorian Home Fleet. 

“We are currently studying the transfer of Luthorian naval assets from the Home Fleet towards a new command,” a top officer stated, confirming the government’s intentions. These comments were immediately rejected by the Naval Staff, which lamented the lack “of responsibility” of some of its members when it came to media statements. 

A press statement from Defence Secretary Peterson is expected to happen – with the Defence Secretary likely outlining the new development for the Imperial Luthorian Navy for the next ten to fifteen years.  

“Three fleets, each with a carrier battle group and each with their own subdivision of submarine.” according to military analyst, George Mitchell, it’s the likely future look of the Imperial Navy in the next few years. His argument? “It’s been a while since the Navy – and in fact, the entire military, has talked about ‘flexible’ command being a principle, decreasing the role that the Citadel plays in day-to-day running of combat operations worldwide. Now is likely the time to act on this policy platform,” he concluded. 

HMS Excalibur is expected to arrive tomorrow morning, as the first Luthorian vessel to arrive to Sholemberg, according to a statement from the Defence Office. 

Luthorian Ambassador to Amudim, Sir John Rabbin stated having "noticed" the central government in Yishelem of the success of the bilateral negotiations. This move was widely seen as a "goodwill measure" by Fort William towards Yishelem, as current arrangements between the different regional authorities with Yishelem do not force Luthorian officials to do so.
