King William XVII marries Lady Diane Acheson

During a grand ceremony in Bekenial back in August, His Royal Majesty, King William XVII married his longtime sweetheart, Lady Diane Acheson of Kalistan. Lady Diane given the title of Queen Diane, and the Duchess of Newport as par of the ceremony. King William XVII and Queen Diane have known each other for most of their lives, with the King having met her during his long stay in Kalistan during his Regency. Speculation ran rampant for most of the past two years of whether the King and Queen were serious until an official engagement had been announced in the winter of 5717.
The Royal Wedding was extremely well attended, with direct attendance by the Empress of Kalistan, Carolina II, the Emperor of Luthori William XI and the Emperor of Keris Leon Alexander, all in direct attendance along with large retinues. The Kalistani Royal Family was given special pride of place, being directly seated with the rest of the House of Steuart-Carmichael with the direct family of the groom, being sat next to Her Imperial Highness Princess Katrina, the Duchess of Axminister and Princess Emily, the Duchess of Glentingham, the King's two younger sisters, with Princess Eleanor, the Grand Duchess of Lagard and the King's aunt. The King's uncle, Prince Christopher, the Grand Duke of Kenai, stood at the King's Best Man. Her Imperial Majesty, Carolina II, was also given a special place in the ceremony itself, with the King having declared, the Empress to be "his older sister in all but name."
On the back end of the wedding, as is tradition in Hutori, Prime Minister James Woodbury took the opportunity to speak with his counter parts from Kalistan, Egelion and Luthori, meeting privately with them one on one at 24 Orange Avenue after all official ceremonies. Transcripts of the conversations were unavailable, but it's known that Prime Minister Woodbury had promised to follow up with official state visits to Kaliburg, Fort William and Altea. Amongst the topics to be discuss are expected to be the Altea Accords for both Egelion and Kalistan and MATO in terms of Luthori and how Hutori can navigate relationships between both new diplomatic blocs, with Prime Minister Woodbury already stating that Hutori had no desire to intertwine itself in any binding international agreements or organizations at this time.
