The crisis continues in Istapali as the number of Ebola cases in the north has officially crossed the fifty thousand threshold and the state of emergency being declared across the entirety of the northern provinces while the societal fabric and the social contract are both pushed to their limits threatening to throw the nation into an unprecedented era of troubles.
The news of an organized attack against the only general hospital in the city of Jezu, the second most populous city in the north, which was responsible for the treatment of server Ebola cases was forced to shutdown due to the extreme damages brought to its infrastructure and vaccine reserves. The attack was then followed by 16 groups of angry mobs storming local ebola treatment tents and raiding their supplies in a desperate attempt to gather medicine, those same tents then announced their permanent closure due to security risk posed by those raids. Health experts warned that if the Ebola virus travelled down from the sparsely populated north down to the densely populated south it could usher in the worst epidemic ever recorded in the modern history of Istapali and Dovani.
On top of that, the federal government has announced the start of strict food rations limiting the amount of food obtained by citizens "to the absolute survival minimum and nothing more". The announcement was met by riots across the federal capital Namaji with angry crowds accusing the government of rerouting the food imports authorized by parliament to fatten themselves, the revelation that the Health Minister Lubabalo Nombembe had gained more than 20 kilograms during the food crisis didn't help the government's case at all.
Seeing the chaos ravaging Istapali, the riots in the Capital, Ebola outbreak in the north, and complete paralysis of Parliament, Prime Minister Mzukisi Dlulane announced his resignation and retirement from public life in a televised address to the Nation. His resignation immediately triggered article 4 of the constitution which mandates that Parliament must find a new prime minister or snap elections will be automatically held 60 days after the Prime Minister's resignation. Some see the threat of snap elections as a possible way to pressure the PFP and ACH to cooperate and form a grand unity government, but a majority of the population are already preparing themselves to hear empty promises in the radio and television.
