KÓK "dissapointed" in HaN over participation in new government

Helios - Following the news that the Huriyat al-Najd party would vote in favor of its participation in the new Thanopoulos government, newly elected MP and KÓK party leader Theodóros Kallívas expressed his "dissapointment" over the decision. The election saw the Centre Party win its first representation in national parliament, capturing 20 seats and 6.6% of the vote.
The result was seen as a opening by the party and its newly elected lawmakers for a coalition government without Phalanx. Such a government could consist of the KS-Baathists-KDP and HaN with Centre Party support. According to Kallívas, talking to reporters shortly after the results were announced, such a coalition would "be more favourable to the rights of the rural population" then a new Phalanx government.
When HaN formally announced its intention of accepting responsibility in a new government led by Phalanx, Kallívas called it "a missed opportunity", expressing dissapointment in the fact that HaN "seemingly values a position in cabinet more then a chance at greater autonomy for our disadvantaged communities."
Despite the dissapointment, the Centre Party under Kallívas had indicated its willingness to work with the new government on the issues that matter, promising to be "a constructive part of the oppossition." Additionally, the party has started expanding with several new local chapters, seeking to broaden its base and lean more on its populist and centrist nature rather then its agrarian roots. Whether this approach will help it expand its base is something that remains to be seen.
