Many had expected the situation in Istapali to stabilize itself after the election of Sidima Nombulelo to the position of Prime Minister and formation of a National Unity Government to respond to the ongoing economic and humanitarian crisises rocking the nation, but the rejection of yet another emergency loan by the Bank of Lourenne in June of Last year and the cases of Ebola skyrocketing in the Capital have been the drops that finally flooded the vase.
Prime Minister Sidima Nombulelo was visiting a rural village in the outskirts of Namaji when news broke out about rogue regiments of the Federal Armed Forces left their baraques and began marching down to the country's most critical institutions, the Federal Assembly, Presidential Palace, and Supreme Court. Before he could understand what was happening, an assailant shot him in the neck while screaming "Glory to the Revolution!", Sidima was then pronounced dead a few minutes later when paramedics ruled the injury as fatal and that any attempts to rescue him will just result in permanent brain damage.
After the death of the Prime Minister was made public, the FAF units stormed Parliament and forced its members to vote its own dissolution alongside dismissing the Supreme Court and Impeaching President Muzukuru Mudzuri from his functions. The leader of the coup, General Rungano Chikerema then hijacked the state's TV and radio broadcasting channels to announce the state of war across the country alongside the formation of the National Reconciliation Junta composed of members of the rulling People's Freedom Party and Alliance for Change and Hope while Pan-Dovanian Pact for Socialism was formally banned and its leaders executed on charges of treason and conspiracy with Xsampa and Utaristan, the two nations the junta accuses of trying to spread the "communist disease onto our sublime and blessed republic".
Reports of the start of a potential insurgency starting along the border with North Dovani, where 70,3% of the Ekina people are located, have started to emerge as sighting of arm distribution happening between underground networks because of the Junta's obvious Vanhu and Psiku supremacist agenda that has already shown itself in the abolition of the protected status given to Ekina, Kwikoe, Zaki languages.
