Ever since the coup of the young officers in September and proclamation of the Government of National Concord in opposition to the National Reconciliation Junta, the capital Namaji has been the battlefield of the two factions vowing to take control of the country's institutions in hopes of garnering legitimacy in the eyes of the international community.

While many had expected the GNC to drive out the NRJ from the capital due to the population overwhelming supporting the Revolutionaries, everyone was taken by suprise when the NRJ launched operation "Dying Star" and managed to drive out the GNC from the Presidential Palace and break the siege of Parliament. However victory was short lived as immediately after GNC forces were driven out into the suburbs, the revolutionary leader Rungano Mangwende called upon the population to revolt in Namaji and make "the lives of our enemies a living hell they cannot escape". 

The broadcast was immediately followed by reports of fires breaking across the city, NRJ military posts being terror bombed, and civilians orchestrating sabotage operations agaisnt critical infrastructures. It is obvious that the Government of National Concord has the population's overwhelming support since many blame the NRJ and the old civilian government of being the cause behind Istapali's catastrophic domestic situation.

Furthermore, news about the ongoing Ekina revolt in the north show that the forces of the Blessed Kingdom of Ekidonia have managed to cement themselves alongside defeating NRJ forces to the point of expelling them along the entirety of the North Dovani and New Englia borders much to the disarray of the junta who still tries to gather popular support through their campaigns.
