CHANCELLOR GU WANZHE DIAGONSED WITH CANCER
KAIZHOU - In a recent press release, the Office of Public Communications of the Chancellor officially announced that the Grand Chancellor of the Celestial Empire, His Excellency Gu Wanzhe, has cancer of the lungs. That Gu Wanzhe was deathly ill was clear to anyone with eyes to see, but it seems that he has finally outlived his usefulness even to his merchant masters, who have discarded him like a toy that has failed to keep a spoiled child's interest. Now that the truth is out, the countdown to the end of Gu has begun.
Gu Wanzhe has been elevated to the position of chancellor in the year 5602 after a republican filth assassinated Grand Regent Cou Mong and the position of chancellor was established. His appointment was heaven-sent to the merchant and liberal upstart peasants, chief among them the "house" of Wu, who, driven by their infinite greed, have used this opportunity to dirty the pure imperial government with their lowborn blood. This dishonor has only escalated after the death of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Jiu in 5606, when the traitorous chancellor refused to convene the council to appoint a new emperor from among the rightful heirs and thus preserve the continuity of the heaven-blessed imperial lineage. Instead, the uneducated liberal spat on the graves of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Jiu and the glorious Grand Regent Cou Mong by daring to establish a parliament, and worst of all, one where the uneducated lowborn mobs had a say.
However, now that it is but certain that Gu will be dead within a year, even his patrons from the "formerly" merchant "house" of Wu, elevated to nobility in 5695 in what was Grand Regent Cou's only and largest mistake, have turned on him and begun to put the young heir of the house patriarch, Wu An, forward as next chancellor, even as Gu still maintains his grip on the position. In order to not let even more power fall into the greedy hands of uneducated merchants, the ancient and traditional southern house of Liang has put up opposition, proposing the house head Liang Zemin for the position. The third of the so-called "Great Houses," the martial Chen clan, has also put forward a candidate, the ambitious Chen Zhenya, a general and leader of the House Army of Chen and the Province Banner of Min.
It is not clear which of these houses shall emerge victorious, but it is the hope of this humble author that the House of Liang shall rise to restore the imperial line that has been empty for decades and drive out all the democratic and liberal peasant vermin plaguing the heavens-blessed Commonwealth of Yingdala.
