The Greens and Communists unite in a single platform

As time passed, the Greens and the Communists started becoming more and more aligned ideologically, remaining historical allies, and achieving similar electoral results. Following the catastrophe of the last elections for these two parties, together with the betrayal of the PSD, the MvD and the PNC have formed a joint coalition called the United Left Front (Fronte Unito della Sinistra, FUS) under the leadership of Elisa Lucchesi.
While this has been met with a strong approval from the Greens' side, the Communist reaction has been more polarised. The right-wing of the party emphasised the need to form joint coalitions in other to achieve adequate results, while the left-wing of the party remained sceptical of joining any other party and losing the internal identity of a communist party. Nonetheless, for now, all the Communists have compromised to joining the Greens in a united front to fight the right-wing, which they have accused of fascism, and the PSD of cooperating with fascists.
