TIAN'AN, Han -- Indrala has seen its third snap election in a row, and fourth in the past twenty years. This has shown a growing instability in the Indralan government, as parties seem unable to lead effectively lead our country. However, it must be noted by the populace that these past elections have been due to a significant drop in the number of parties competing for election. In fact, Indrala's former Jien, Warlord, and more recently Centre Parties have all disbanded. While the others fell for different reasons, many political commenters have marked the Centre Party's collapse to the recent scandal between He Bolin and Tao Hong. One former Centre Party voter commented:
Quote:I used to fervently support the Centre Party. To me, they were truly the only party that stood for our family values and would keep our economy running smoothly. But, after that scandal, I couldn't bring myself to support them! I mean, those two were caught on camera! That's unacceptable moral behaviour.
Another important detail is that these collapsing parties, with the exception of the small Green Democratic Party, have all been right-wing economically. This leaves three out four of the Grand Assembly's parties left-wing and only one, New Dawn, on the right.
Now onto the election itself. With over 200 seats being freed by the Centre Party's exit, every single party managed to gain more than 20 seats in this election. The big winner however was New Dawn who managed to come away with 239, over 33% of the legislature, placing them in the former role of the Centre Party. Possibly due to the seemingly constant snap elections in our country, the percentage of voters has continued to decrease, making a recent low of only 43 million hitting the polls. Further election news will be published as soon as new information is released by the government.
