With the Liberal Party's close alignment with the Forum's economic line of pro-competition and pro-privatisation, and the Republican agenda's slow fade-out in the public realm, some radicals have decided to take to themselves to create a new Civic Forum.

Yesterday evening, the Youth Division leader of the Civic Forum, Tang Zijing called a surprise press conference, announcing the creation of an internal party movement called the 'Republican Revolution'. On the agenda, a re-focus on the Republican Agenda passed by the previous party conference, the establishment of a militia for Republicanism, and the exploration of a possible 'united front' with the Communists.
