In recognition of the ongoing incident involving a tanker in the vicinity of Vascania, the Chief Factor of the Harrington Company has ordered that Harrington Company vessels and/or ships carrying the flag of the Harrington Company traverse the area under the protection of the Maritime Security Unit (MSU) or avoid troubled routes entirely. The Harrington Company has long maintained an eye on the state of piracy in the waters surrounding Vascania and Rapa Pile. Thus, it created the MSU almost a century prior for this specific reason. It ought to be reiterated that the Harrington Company maintains a no-contact policy with pirates, privateers and other seaborne trouble-makers, meaning that it will not negotiate with hostage/ransom takers.
