Fort William - Commonwealth Acting Secretary-General, Jeremy Clarkson confirmed during a press conference that all members of the Commonwealth have been summoned by his Office for an extraordinary meeting being held at Randworth, Commonwealth of Mordusia. Mr. Clarkson effectively validated numerous rumours which were emerging either in the social media or the press. The Mordusian, Hutorian, Luthorian, Rutanian Prime Ministers alongside the Likatonian President were all notified of the upcoming conference in Randworth. Mr. Clarkson’s meeting couldn’t have come at a more opportune moment, as back in Likatonia, their Government succeeded in passing the necessary agreements for joining the Commonwealth and they’ve begun participating fully in the Commonwealth’s apparatus.
Prime Minister Carrington has not yet reacted to the announcement of this emergency meeting of all Head of Governments of the Commonwealth, but Bismarck Palace seems to have reacted positively to the news, as their issued statement, surprisingly positive about such developments make seems. In Fort William, the Luthorian Prime Minister has been confirmed to be present at this Conference, where, according to his entourage, he looks “eager” to meet his fellow Luthorian-speaking leaders and look towards a way to act as per the Secretary-General’s wishes.
Speaking of this meeting, it seems that this meeting was triggered by the entry of Likatonia into the Commonwealth framework, which has been stated to have been the case for years now, but this hasn’t been made official by the Likatonian Congress, which voted some months ago, at the unanimity, that Likatonia was a member of the Commonwealth by ratifying the treaty, a necessary step after signing one, that is the cause of the calling of this meeting, yet, the discussion platform wasn’t even known to all Commonwealth governments before the Secretary-General’s Office sent them a memorandum about the focus of this Year’s Meeting in Randorth.
According to the memo, the meeting is focused around the primary subject of defining and reforming the Commonwealth framework, by expanding its agencies and capabilities, and also by allowing it to run independently from any of the governments forming this organization, by empowering and changing the working manner of the Council of Ambassadors, and by creating a council where all Heads of Governments and Head of State of the Commonwealth could frequently meet to discuss when needed, but with administrative and day-to-day governance of the organization being handled by the Secretary-General and this expanded Council of Ambassadors.
Randworth is excepted is release a small statement in regards to the announcement of the location of this Conference, the Mordusian capital is likely to prepare itself for the big diplomatic event, which would cement Mordusia’s place as a rising power in the Luthorian-speaking World, but the Office of the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth stated that they would “open up contacts” with the Mordusian Federal Government to “look upon” the details of this conference, which is expected to begin in 2 years from now.
The Commonwealth is expected to change its policy after this conference, and it'll be interesting to look upon which policy the Commonwealth would be headed to by its member states, especially the Luthorian Empire. Prime Minister Carrington and His Cabinet were silent upon the Commonwealth framework, yet the Conservative Party is likely to remain steadily "Pro-Commonwealth", like the National Labour Party is.
