The Kingdom of Wrnuke has declared recent Zardic actions the 'final straw' in the recently difficult relationship between the two nations. After a short debate led by Prefect Grzkai Krlmékez moved Wrnuke's 225 seat parliament to a quick vote, which ended unanimously in favour of severing the long-standing treaty between the two nations. In recent years the relations between Zardugal and Wrnuke have been quite tense, with the Kingdom accusing Zardugal of letting cartels smuggle drugs into Jelbe and the south of Wrnuke. The ascension of Director Gropo strained relations even more, the current chief executive of Zardugal is known as an ardent anti-Jelbic statesman. Up until now Wiel has always ignored this fact but the commitment of Zardugal to send paid volunteers to Istalia was too much for the nation to bear. Prefect Krlmékez called for the nation's representatives to act decisively: "Zardugal has shown their true colours by paying their own soldiers to assist Istalia in killing innocent citizens of the Empire."
With the conclusion of the vote the Prefect announced he would seek more ways to "discourage the current Zardic course of action". Krlmékez refused to elaborate on the statement, but the Minister of Trade & Industry, Princess Sófz, revealed that the Kingdom of Wrnuke is contemplating to propose severe sanctions on Zardugal in the Great Council of the Empire. A unified set of sanctions could have great consequences for Zardugal, which still has some trading links with the northern Majatran nations. For now however Wrnuke's actions seem to be limited to dissolving the treaty between the two nations, which means the non-aggression pact that once existed is now off the table. Hawkish pundits within Wrnuke have already called for swift military action to "destroy the socialist threat" but Wiel has vehemently rejected these sentiments.
