Helios Metro opens after years of delay

With a spectacular ceremony, the capital's metro system, was set in motion after many years of delays due to financial issues. It is a next generation metro system because it features automated trains, making it the safest form of public transit in the country. It is the only metro system in the country and consists of 22 stations connecting every corner of the city.

Present at the ceremony was the former President of the Republic, Garyfallia Kleanthou, who, in her speech, thanked the metro workers who toiled for years to construct it.

Additionally, the new unified ticket for buses and the metro was introduced. This ticket costs 3 WAN and can be purchased from the automatic vending machines within the metro stations.
