Direction of Economy sparked OF-VVP screaming-match in Senate

OF member criticizing missing VVP initiative in regards to economy.

After rather uneventful two years and conservatively observing the state of economic development the Beidel administration has proposed a series of very marginally interventionist proposals in subsidies and monetary policy to gradually steer the economy away from oversized military-industrial production. These proposals have been received rather badly from the Orderfaction who call this "indecisive action threatening the future of the Dual Monarchy." Beidel and VVP-chairman Julius Fetternwirtschaft have rejected these comments as "baseless insults." Pundits explain that essentially, the OF is looking to immediately start a massive enlargement and modernization of the Ground and Air Forces to keep the military industrial sector growing. On the polar oppposite Reichskanzler Beidel is seeking to let the market do it thing and see that the shrinking of the military industrial complex due to the dissolution of its largest consumer, the former member states of the Jelbic Empire, is going along more smoothly than without any hands on the situation. This debate has essentially frozen the cabinet over the last two years with petty tactics from the OF controlled Finance Ministry blocking all other major projects. While most expected Empress Theodora or her husband Emperor Wrntukai II to intervene in the process to break the political tie, the family is currently busy enjoying their honeymoon period. The passivity of the Monarch is also explained by her recent announcement of pregnancy. According to the statement of the Royal Press-Corp "The Empress is busy with preserving her health as her Majesty is focussed on avoiding any potential issues with the pregnancy due to age." The only solution that seemed reasonable enough to get all parties to nod off was the proposal pushed by Economic Minister Marissen who has taken the middle-ground in the sense of aiming to provide one branch of the Forces, the Airforce to create a buffer and mediate the economic stress on the markets. According to her this could give the consumer goods sector even more time to fill the void. While expansion into Luthori and the gradual growth of all Thaller Industries Subsidiaries are starting to fill the void left by the arms-consumption of the JE, it is not yet on Imperial levels.
