President Bertram Mendelev comments on his travels as he returns from Kalistan after visiting the Empress


The President returned from his long-anticipated visit to Kaliburg to re-establish relations with the Empire. In the press-conference at Clovisport International Airport, he described the talks as "constructive" and thanked Kalistan for its hospitality. Furthermore, Mendelev reaffirmed his position on Athosia, saying there was "no indication from Kaliburg they would be looking to annex Athosia" but reminded the press that Likatonians should not involve ourselves in these matters so long as International Law is being kept to. 

The President also announced Naval Forces will be stationed in Likatonian waters and that no foreign military ships will be allowed to enter, including our allies until the situation between Xsampa and Beiteynu is resolved. He also committed to continuing peace talks in the capital to resolve the Kalopian-Solentia conflict. He said he continues to condemn all acts of aggression by every party (perhaps purposefully vague) and calls for a return to global peace and diplomacy. Mendelev also quickly announced that humanitarian aid sent by the Government has successfully reached charitable organisations in Solentia who will distribute it accordingly. 

Rumours in Congress are that the President will make a final trip to Gaduridos before the election, to hold talks about normalising relations.
