NAVAL ESCORT FOR TRADING VESSELS GOING TO XSAMPA
 
Premier’s Office, April 16, 5597:   CLAIRON PICARD caught up with Premier Michel Malfois just after a meeting in his office with the Defense Minister, the Chief of the National Defense Staff, the Chief of Naval Operations and the Minister of Trade and Industry with supporting staff, and asked what was in the works.  Malfois replied:
 

We do not do much trade with Dovani outside of a long term contract for electrical passenger vehicles, but we want to be sure trade routes are not being molested by Moledet Medinat in the wake of its going to war with Xsampa.
 
The government corporation for buying and selling with other nations, Societe Nationale de Bourse Intermediare (SNBI) has a cargo of our distinctive wine, truffles and cheese which  it is shipping to Xsampa to see if grocery or restaurant wholesalers would be interested in contracting for deliveries.
 
A naval escort of three Trebole Classs Frigates from Task Force 13 located at the Port of Torges will be accompanying them.  It was our judgment that a minimal escort would not be treated as a provocation by Moledet Medinat the way the 2nd Imperial Fleet might have been, but we do recognize one can never actually anticipate the view  of the Kohav or the Medinat Department with any certainty.
