His Majesty the Emperor of Kalistan slain, the Kundrati Union responds.

The Emperor of Kalistan, Fredrick II Ananto, was slain yesterday after the "Democracy Forum" in Neveras, Kalistan. The Emperor was shot multiple times, and hospital workers tried valiantly to save His Majesty, who succumbed to his injuries at 4:23 am local time.

It is expected that Pavlina Ananto-Hulanevek will become the sovereign Empress of Kalistan. Gaining the role after being promoted by Emperor Fredrick, it is likely that this will represent a new strengthening of Kundrati-Kalistani relations. President of Kundrati Andrelopa Arruzabarrena commented their condolences, and the President's Office has said that she, Foreign Minister Jaizkibel Garaycochea, Justice Minister Isaak Arberas, and Trade Minister Gurutz Navea will all be attending the funeral which is expected to take place. Members of the Hulanevek family will also be attending.

The Defense Minister, Admiral Jamie Aguray, has said they will send a corvette and five patrol ships to Kalistan to protect the region from any unusual activities as Kalistan reels from the slaughter of the Emperor. In addition, Jamie Aguray has confirmed that Kundrati special forces and military units have been sent with the permission of relevant Kalistani authorities and Dame Jacqueline DuMont. These troops and equipment are expected to be sent to Sulari, Port Swedes, and Kaliburg. They are expected to provide necessary assistance concerning quelling the insurgency with Kalistani's militia and regular forces.

The Foreign Intelligence Service of the Kundrati Union reportedly has begun to provide their Kalistani counterparts with intelligence assistance and resources to hunt down the leader of the Democracy Forum and likely chief instigator of the ongoing violence, Mr. Leo Ingleton.
