Citizens in Cise today woke up to military vehicles and troops occupying the streets and seizing various government institutions. With a media blackout occuring hours afterwards. After a turbulent day, just this evening, the blackout would end and state media would announce that the military has seized control of the government, citing the radicalism of the left wing regime, the economic instability it caused, and the hostile nationalism advocated by it. As such, all members of the RWPP cabinet have been arrested, alongside former President Yukimura Anzai.
Martial law is in full effect, and as such, all political parties are suspended indefinitely, all private media is suspended and the military has installed one of its own in the office of presidency. Arguing that the Revolutionary Worker's and Peasants Party has caused immense instability to Utari Mosir, via unchecked radicalism and economic instability, the National Salvation Council has looked to crack down on RWPP supporters. However the biggest thing that many have noticed was the "hostile nationalism". As it stands, the military is predominately occupied by Hulstrians, and as anticipated, Utari Nationalism is often viewed negatively in the military. It would come to little surprise that the RWPP was couped.
But this hasn't stopped protests around the country calling for the return to civilian government. With the focus being in a return for democracy, a few demagogues and nationalists have highlighted the NSC's opposition to Utari Nationalism. However at the moment, the military has curbed most major protests but foreign experts anticipate more to occur over the coming months as socialists and nationalists seek to take advantage and push their agenda. However for the time being, the torch of democracy in Utari Mosir has been snuffed out. Whether it remains or the fires of socialism and nationalism take over is yet to be seen.
