Iodine tablets are just one of many urgently needed medicines
Tablet presses running day and night, filled with potassium iodide. It was the first reaction to the horrific nuclear attack on Metz-Leonid, even before there was a political reaction.
The focus now is on treating the long-term effects of radiation exposure. The Executive Committee has already assured Xsampa that it will provide drugs for both curative and palliative treatment of the numerous newly diagnosed cancer patients in and around Metz-Leonid. The first batch already involves deliveries worth around 500 million Spesmilo. Fajroturo also confirmed that it is planned to send members of the military medical service to support Xsampa with personnel. Food is also being sent in increasing numbers, as the radiation contamination of the soil in Xsampa has led to crop failures.
The Executive Committee under Director Sojknabo has declared its willingness to provide substantial financial support as a long-term contribution to the reconstruction of Metz-Leonid. However, during the otherwise very sober announcement, Director Sojknabo insisted that "it is actually Beiteynu that should pay this bill"
