Would you like for time to slow down?
#4
In the spirit of working towards legacy and game rules and whatnot, I've reopened this just in case.

Everybody seems against changing the pace of game time, personally as a player I wouldn't argue against a 6-hour or even 8-hour ticker. I've noticed that most international RP suffers from backdating and even a general loss of momentum (excluding literally just a couple of cases like WOLS and Le Cafard) because a) players can't meet the fast-pace expectations of intense scenarios due to RL and b) the concept of time is hard to grasp.

On (b), it's mostly bias and perception of real-life. We see years move in 2 days so it generally conflicts with our perception of years in the game. We automatically think it's the same perception for Terrans - whereas I've always imagined a year in PT compared with playerbase ability to post 2 times per week in general (ergo 3-4 years) does not mean anything for Terrans.

i.e. 4 year election cycles in Terra would be 1 year on Earth - so the perception of Terrans should be 8-9-10 years instead, even more (simply for the reason that 2 days = 1 year atm and most of us can only make 1-2 posts in 2 days)
