The Executive Committee around Tinkado and Tzafrir as figureheads has always been able to ensure internal stability and continuity, but in recent years there have been increasing voices accusing the duo of a lack of vision. Continuity would also mean stagnation, a state that the younger representatives of the political world in particular no longer wanted to accept. Most recently, this political trend prevailed in the compilation of the electoral lists by the CK-LK general assembly. It was therefore foreseeable that the current EC would be voted out if it was not possible to guarantee the desired policy change in the current personnel structure. In the first meeting of the Supreme Council after the elections, Tinkado was denied confirmation in office and his most vehement critic Elvira Karesarbo was elected director of the Executive Committee with 70% of the votes. The elections to fill the remaining positions were postponed by unanimous decision to give the new director the opportunity to think about her proposals for the individual positions.
It is assumed that the necessary majority could only be achieved with promises made in advance to spare individual long-serving members of the EC from a tumultuous "tabula rasa".
Even if these circumstances may put a slight damper on the efforts of the movement, which Karesarbo is at the head of, the symbolic effect of her appointment alone is already causing euphoria among her supporters. She is the youngest person to hold this office to date and also the first woman to do so. Now it is up to her to find majorities in the Supreme Council and to form a stable and effective executive committee.
The next plenary session of the Supreme Council, at which the Commissars will also be appointed, will take place in three days.
