It is with great regret that after 8 months of long fighting the Island of Extea has fallen into enemy hands. Over 200,000 of our brave fighters have perished in the fanatical defense of the city, taking with them equally as many Coalition forces. The island is now polluted with many chemical/bio residues, and marked with tens of thousands of shells and craters. The city itself in the island is over 90% destroyed as urban fighting reduced it to rubble, with civilian casualties likely in the range of 300,000 as no evacuation efforts could be undertaken given the logistical priorities. Coalition forces were rumored to have many mass graves as widespread rape and pillaging took place, prisoners executed without trial, and countless warcrimes inflicted. Comrade Sladek assured the nation that it would recover from the terrible conflict and retake the Island soon, but as of now hostilities are ceased as we embark on repairing our nation.

The martyrs who gave their lives in the cities defense are to be remembered in a new mural being raised in Kaesama and all victims of the conflict who lost loved ones given financial benefits of the Martyr Fund for the remainder of their lives.
