South Dovanian Delegation Departs for Altéa

South Dovani will take another step toward engaging the world for the first time in earnest since the Scarlet Rose Revolution over a century ago this month when its delegation joins other world leaders at Altéa in Egelion for a major conference to discuss trade, security, and matters of importance.

The conference, organized by the King of Egelion, has drawn pledges of attendance from many of Terra's nations. Though South Dovani is a small player on the world stage, Prime Minister Chandra Srirai has made it a platform of her New Elephant Worker's Party in the coming 5625 election to open international doors which have been closed for most of the post-Revolutionary period.

Attending for South Dovani are Anong Chavalit, Minister of Foreign Affairs (NEWP), Pridi Vorasarn, Minister of Finance (PIE), and Ratchanee Thephasdin, Deputy Minister of Trade and Economic Cooperation (NEWP). The South Dovanian delegation has been tasked with establishing closer ties in particular with nations similar to South Dovani, who have recently moved away from extremes and toward moderate liberal democracy. When asked what South Dovani will pursue specifically, Minister Chavalit stated that the key aims for South Dovani are twofold: first, South Dovani will propose a trade and infrastructure development framework among nations transitioning from authoritarian rule, aimed at stabilizing economies and encouraging multilateral relations. Second, South Dovani will seek to engage in discussions with Xsampa, with the aim of encouraging regional cooperation and shared investment while highlighting the importance of Xsampa also embracing political openness and liberal reform where possible.
