Quote:Your excellency, dear friends, esteemed guests and members of this conference. Surrouned with all of this beauty today and with an absolutely lovely, great and nice recipience, for which we all are grateful, I think it is always worthy to remember the reason of why we have gathered here this week.
For a couple of days now, in speeches by my colleagues and counterparts from all over the Terra we have heard one uniting theme: peace. Everyone wants it, and we are here to find out what can we do to make it happen. What can we do to stop illiberal and inhumane regimes like those in mainland Kundrati or Valruzia, or extremists in Istalia or Rutania. The answer is simple: resist. But that's just words from a single politician on a world stage, what about actions? Throughout the week we have heard here different proposals as to what we can do, and we already have heard criticism of some of the ideas voiced here. This sparks both joy and sadness. On one side, a debate like this is a symptom of a healthy democracy, on the other, a disunity in these sorrow times, which requires us all to work together, if we want to stand up and fight extremism.
I agree with a representative from Kalistan that there must be a bigger engagement in regional politics and wrongdoings of some cartoonishly horrible nations and their leaders, for which I will publicly say sorry on behalf of Beluzia, for decades of international isolationism from our previous governments. And while it is understandable where does the Kalistani side comes from on this, I will allow myself to disagree, because I do not think regionalism is a way here. Locking ourselves to a specific region while may be reasonable morally, will not be reasonable materially. If indeed nations from the same continent fail to show any interest in the events happening there, what are the odds a smaller nation will be able to defend itself from some bigger and more capable aggressor state without bringing in others? Rhetorical question. And while I do not wish to personally attack anyone, I just wish Kalistani representative would display less arrogance and more constructive dialogue. If they do not wish to cooperate with nations globally, this may not be the place for them to be.
Now, putting all of that inside, I want to express my, while possibly useless, but I promise on Beluzia's behalf we will do everything is our powers to support and help all of those oppressed peoples around the world, be it in our own backyard, Dovani, Majatra or elsewhere. Selective solidarity is a plague, which must be stopped. There is no, and must never be any people who deserve international support more or less. Period.
Before closing my speech, I would also like to react to my counterpart from Kalopia, and her speech's part about international institutions in particular. While, I wish, and I want to believe most of present here as well, would like to see our international institutions work, and serve as a mediator to help us in this mission of prevently striking all authoritarian regimes. But, let us be realists, it won't work, no matter how we try. Something is broken in its system, in its structure, in its mission. We cannot support any kinds of 'revival' or WOCO and SECO, without a proper step-by-step plan, which will end up with us reevaluating why do we need such institution, and what purpose it can actually serve and under what mechanisms will it operate.
But, I promise I will be closing my speech now. Beluzia's mission here is to be a part of a bigger idea, especially considering we have a real threat in our backyard, which we wish to stop. I hope this platform will indeed help us unite, put our arrogance, pride and naivity aside, and come up with some actual solutions, like effective sanctioning mechanisms, defence clauses, supporting democratic instutitions, press, oppressed people in nations around the world, without dividing them into one sphere of influence or other. To have peace, we must support democracy and end the bi-, tri-, multi-, or frankly, any kind of polarity, and march towards united world order, together.
