TITLE VI MARRIAGE FAMILY AND SEXUALITY

Section 1-  Marriage Regulations
VI.1.a  Government policy toward marriage-  The government allows all consenting adults to obtain civil marriage contracts.

VI.1.b  Government recognition of interracial marriages-  Mixed race marriages follow the same regulation as other marriages.

VI.1.c  The government's policy with respect to polygamy-  There is no explicit government policy on polygamy.

VI.1.d  The government's policy regarding foreign marriages-  Only foreign marriages that comply with domestic policy regarding marriage are recognized.

VI.1.e  The legality of divorces-  Divorces are legal, be it mutual consent, grounded cause or if one partner wants it.

VI.1.f  The government's policy regarding the initiation of divorces-  Either partner may initiate a divorce.

VI.1.g  The government's policy with respect to adultery-  There is no explicit government policy on adultery.

VI.1.h  Forced marriages-  Forced marriages are illegal.

Section 2-  Family Regulations
VI.2.a  The government's policy concerning parental qualifications-  The government does not hold qualifications for new parents.

VI.2.b  The government's stance on population control-  The government does not engage in population control.

VI.2.c  Policy on the legality of abortions-  Abortion is allowed during the entire course of the pregnancy.

VI.2.d  Policy of the government concerning the funding of abortions-  The government provides funding for abortions.

VI.2.e  Legality of in-vitro fertilization-  IVF is legal and regulated in terms of the applicant's condition and procedural circumstances.

VI.2.f  Government policy on surrogacy-  Surrogacy is legal, and surrogacy agreements are enforceable. Only altruistic surrogacy is legal.

VI.2.g  The government's policy concerning adoption-  Regulation is used to screen out only those with a previous history of child abuse.

VI.2.h  The government's policy concerning who can proceed with adoption-  Everyone may adopt children.

VI.2.i  The government's policy on inheritance-  There is a strictly regulated inheritance law, private regulation is not allowed.

VI.2.j  Policy on paternity/maternity benefits-  Paternity/maternity benefits are distributed to new parents who meet certain income and/or employment status requirements.

Section 3-  Sexuality Regulations
VI.3.a  The government's policy regarding bestiality (performing sexual acts with animals)-  Bestiality is illegal.

VI.3.b  The distribution, purchasing and possession of material depicting pornographic acts-  Pornography depicting consenting adults is legal for adults.

VI.3.c  Government position in respect to crossdressing policy-  Crossdressing is allowed.

VI.3.d  Government policy concerning the ability to change the legal definition of one's gender-  The government allows the individual to decide on gender identity.

VI.3.e  Government policy concerning sex reassignment surgery-  Sex reassignment surgery is legal but regulated.

VI.3.f  Policy on incest-  Incestuous acts are illegal.

VI.3.g  The legality of interracial sex-  The government has no policy concerning interracial sex.

VI.3.h  The government's policy on public nudity-  There are no laws with regards to public nudity, it is allowed.

VI.3.i  Displays of public affection and obscenity laws-  Sexual intercourse is illegal in public.

VI.3.j  Government policy on sexual relations-  Sexual relations of all types are legal for consenting adults.
