KALISTANI STANDING STATUTES

TITLE XIII THE REGULAR FORCES OF KALISTAN

Section 1-  Military Structure
XIII.1.a  The government's policy towards civilians who conscientiously object to being required to perform military service-  Conscientious objectors are exempted.

XIII.1.b  The nation's defense industry-  The National Defense Industry is a Public-Private, State Managed National Organization known as KalNaMilInCo

XIII.1.c  Military stance on homosexuality-  Homosexuality is allowed in the military.

XIII.1.d  Discrimination in the military on grounds of race/religion-  Any adult citizen can serve in the military, discrimination for racial or religious reasons is prohibited.

XIII.1.e  The nation's policy on the separation of the police and the military-  A civilian police force is in place and the military is not allowed to play any part in it.  Duchy Governments may request assistance from the Institutional Militia to quell significant civil disturbance/insurrection.

XIII.1.f  National military policy-  The government retains a Standing, professional army, navy and air force.  Paramilitary Organizations coordinate and support the Regular Standing Military.

XIII.1.g  Government's position on paramilitaries-  The Institutional Party of Kalistan organizes and maintains an irregular partisan militia in association with the Kalistani Regular Force.

XIII.1.h  Appointment of military officers-  The Ministry of Defense is authorized to appoint military officers of the Regular Force.  Officer Promotions are accomplished through fitness reports and recommendations of senior officers with direct, operational knowledge of the service performance of the candidate.

XIII.1.i  Women in the military-  Women serve alongside men in all roles.

Section 2-  Conduct of War
XIII.2.a  Policy on the usage of drones and UAV's-  The government approves of the usage of unarmed drones and UAVs for reconnaissance.

XIII.2.b  The government's policy regarding the treatment of prisoners of war-  Prisoners of war are immediately returned to their own government.

XIII.2.c  The policy with respect to nuclear weaponry-  The nation shall never develop, produce or store nuclear weaponry.

XIII.2.d  The government's policy concerning the use of nuclear weaponry in warfare-  The nation shall never use nuclear weapons in warfare.

XIII.2.e  The government's policy concerning biological and chemical weaponry-  The nation shall never develop, purchase or store biological or chemical weaponry.

XIII.2.f  The government's policy concerning the use of chemical and biological weaponry in warfare-  The nation shall never use chemical or biological weaponry in warfare.

XIII.2.g  The government's policy towards the use of land mines by the army-  The use of land mines is prohibited.
