TSARGRAD - Chaos reigns supreme in the capital after units of the 4th reserve brigade have failed in what seems to be a coup attempt. The brigade, largely consisting of Usmarea natives, used a training exercise near the capital as a excuse to move towards the Imperial Palace. There, they tried to enter the premises but were stopped by units of the Imperial Guard. On the other side of the city, two explosions rocked the eastern district police station after a armoured vehicle from the 8th Eagle Platoon fired two shots at it. This platoon had ordered police forces to surrender their weapons, seeking to use the police station as a base of operations. 

After a standoff that lasted two hours, shots were fired near the palace and a gunfight ensued killing at least 4 soldiers and 2 Imperial Guardsmen. Fearing more resistance the 4th reserve brigade withdrew from the palace and hastily tried to leave the city. At this point other army units loyal to the Imperial regime had surrounded the city and, seeking to prevent another gunfight, the commander of the 4th reserve surrendered his men to the Imperial forces. 

While much still remains unclear, reports are coming from Usmarea and Vadissza of other army mutinies as well as militia's forming. Two army helicopters have also left Tsargrad airbase to land in Balgrad, joining a new "Usmarea National Guard".  Emperor Slavko has yet to be seen or heard in public but imperial authorities have assured our paper that all is under control. What sparked the failed coup remains vague, but discontent over religious power and a lack of representation for the provinces had been rampant in the leadup to this catastrophic event.
