Various developments have occured since the IDF gained momentum. Whether it be MacGannon going to Luthori, Foreign Aid and Foreign Legions arriving to assist in the fight against the IDF and even Kilani Nationalists approaching, moderate nationalists, approaching the AUC for negotiations. With several developments occuring, it's best to break it down.
Starting off with MacGannon going to Luthori. Prime Minister MacGannon has gone to Fort William to not only foster closer ties, but also ensure a steady stream of aid and ensure that Luthori is on the same page as the New Englian government regarding the ongoing Years of Lead and the threat from both the KLF and IDF.
Second, the foreign legions. Various nations have, rather surprisingly taken an interest in New Englia and have pledged immense aid. Egelion, Hutori, Luthori, even the questionable status of Etxea has pledged aid. Equipment and especially volunteers have been sent, with the foreign aid likely if not certainly going to even the playing field against the IDF. Mechanized infantry, battle hardened veterans, these foreign legions will be immensely beneficial in bringing about peace to New Englia.
While the IDF has continued to terrorize Kilani communities, they have also begun to embrace a more ultra nationalist approach, targeting individuals and such from other countries, such as Beluzia. As the question of foreign aid to the IDF remains unanswered, reports have emerged of the IDF having foreign mercenaries at their side, speaking an Artanian language. While these reports are yet to be verified, and are questionable due to their vagueness, it would be alarming, if not for the foreign legions coming to assist New Englia.
And finally, the most shocking development. Ever since Firecracker, the KLF has been relegated to minor attacks and licking its wounds. It was assumed they'd rebuild and return to attacking. Yet with foreign legions arriving, and the threat of the IDF, it seems those assumptions died rather quickly as moderate Kilani nationalists have willingly chosen to enter negotiations with the AUC. While negotiations are not yet scheduled, both sides have accepted the offer and it is likely that negotiations will begin soon between the AUC and Moderate Kilani Nationalists. Where the KLF plays into this is hard to say. With moderates leaving them, their ability to fight is reduced significantly, and they could threaten the negotiations. While obviously hardliners will oppose and keep fighting, it is entirely likely that the KLF can outright lay down its arms if amnesty is promised.
Whatever the case, for the first time in a long time, things are starting to look up for New Englia. With foreign aid arriving, we can only hope for a quick end to this conflict.
