Istalian state visit to Egelion: toward a new bilateral agreement

ALTÈA – The State Visit of Emperor Alessandro V and Minister Secretary of State Annalisa Saragat opened with a solemn welcome at the Royal Palace of Altèa, received by King Romulo in a climate of great political and diplomatic understanding. At the center of the meeting was an ambitious bilateral agreement destined to redefine the economic and strategic relations between Istalia and Egelion, with implications that go far beyond the borders of the two countries.

The bilateral treaty under negotiation aims to develop economic cooperation between the two nations, with the aim of promoting the free exchange of goods and services, breaking down customs barriers, streamlining bureaucratic procedures and harmonizing industrial standards. For Istalia, this represents a concrete opportunity for expansion, guaranteeing new commercial outlets and strategic access to sources of raw materials that are essential for the national industry.

Istalia, furthermore, expects an increase in its exports in light of the current Istalian competitiveness based on low labor costs, a phenomenon determined by a market saturated with young people looking for work. In this scenario, companies can count on a large availability of labor willing to accept low economic conditions, which allows them to reduce costs and improve productivity.
The PSD-led government, while aware of the critical issues of this model, has introduced a minimum wage and protection measures which, however, many radical left forces consider insufficient and too unbalanced in favor of companies. The Executive, however, defends its line, underlining how economic growth remains the national priority and that in the last five years, per capita income has increased by 57%, according to official data presented by the Ministry of Economy.

In addition to the economy, the visit has laid the foundations for future military cooperation between Istalia and Egelion. Joint exercises, joint development and production of new equipment and coordination of strategic defense are among the hypotheses under consideration. The two nations share the need to strengthen their response capabilities in the face of new geopolitical challenges, in a global context marked by growing tensions and regional instability. It is not excluded that Istalia aims at a future integration of nations with which similar strategic relations have already been established, such as Hutori and, according to rumors, negotiations are also underway with Kanjor, with which Istalia aims in the future to build solid relations for trade between East Majatra and South Seleya and a common area of security and strategic stability.

Also at the top of the agenda of the talks there is the civil war in Deltaria: in recent months Istalia has increased its support for anti-Thallerist forces, welcoming a Hutori task force on its territory and providing military aid to democratic militias. Although the Government and the Ministry of Defense maintain maximum confidentiality, confidential sources indicate that Istalian Intelligence is actively operating on the ground providing strategic and tactical advice to the rebel forces, preparing them especially for asymmetric and guerilla tactics to face the government regular forces.
Several episodes of sabotage against Deltarian government forces, in particular on supply lines and industrial sites, are thought to be attributable to operations coordinated by Istalia agents. The use of new-generation reconaissance and kamikaze drones developed by OTO Al-Mehara has also proven particularly effective, and the Government and Defense have decided to test them on the ground in the Deltarian theater. Despite several failed launches and operations due to malfunctions, but on the other hand we are talking about prototypes in full testing phase, the first results have been encouraging with the drones that have in fact allowed to hit several sensitive targets with precision and low costs, also collecting precious reconnaissance information. The Government could soon give the green light for the integration of these new weapon systems into the Istalian Armed Forces (OOC: source https://en.topwar.ru/261763-perspektivny...italy.html).

The geopolitical context has offered a further surprise with the change of position of Kafuristan who has publicly distanced himself from Slavko Thaller, aligning himself with the international anti-Thallerist front. A turning point that has opened an unexpected diplomatic channel between Kafuristan and Istalia, interrupted for over four decades. Despite the contacts with the government of al-Kasraj have been very limited and conducted mainly throught Hutorian channels, having been other task forces of Hutori deployed in Kafuristan too, these seems to confirm the will of the PSD to rebuild a dialogue, even hypothesizing a normalization of relations. However, there is no shortage of critical voices. The opposition denounces the ambiguity of Kafuristan, who continues to welcome members of the so-called "government in exile of the Grand Emirate of Quanzar", and recalls how the current program of restructuring of the Armed Forces was conceived precisely as a defensive function against a perceived threat from the neighboring north-west. The PSD, which has long been critical of the enormous resources dedicated to Defense, could therefore hope to gradually rebuild relations with Kafuristan in order to review Defense plans and thus redirect resources towards social and industrial programs.

The visit to Egelion, thus, is a further success for Istalian diplomacy and for an Istalia that is increasingly a protagonist on the economic and military level, aware of its role and its interests, but also of the social and moral challenges that arise from a rapidly changing world. The direction is clear: consolidate growth, strengthen alliances, and be ready on every front.
