SUPREME COURT OF VALRUZIA
JUDGMENT No. 587/5633
Date: April 24th, 5633
IN THE NAME OF THE PEOPLE OF VALRUZIA
The Supreme Court of Valruzia, sitting in full session and exercising its highest constitutional authority as granted by the Constitution of Valruzia, delivers the following judgment in the criminal proceedings brought against the accused:
Szczepan Morawski (born in the year 5546),
former Head of State of the Valruzian Unitary State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Valruzia, found responsible for the orchestration, maintenance, and execution of a regime of terror that systematically violated the Constitution in place at the time of the uprising led by his figure, the fundamental rights of Valruzian citizens, and the international laws governing human dignity and justice.
FINDINGS
After careful review of extensive evidence submitted by the Office of the Prosecutor General, testimonies from victims and survivors, and reports provided by national and international human rights organizations, this Court finds Szczepan Morawski GUILTY on the following charges:
- Usurpation of Constitutional power through means of a military coup in the year 5592, dismantling Valruzia’s democratic institutions and establishing personal rule by the use of military force.
- Crimes against Humanity, including:
JUDGMENT
- Violent repression of peaceful demonstrations,
- Systematic censorship and dismantling of the free press,
- Arbitrary detentions, torture, and forced disappearances of political dissidents,
- Direct responsibility for the death of more than 100,000 Valruzian citizens.
- Ordering and overseeing the extrajudicial execution of government officials and elected representatives, including the members of Parliament at the time of his uprising.
- Implementation of martial law and the use of military force against unarmed civilians during the 5623-5624 national protests.
- Suppressing democratic processes, including the dissolution of regional governments, banning political parties, and staging elections under coercion, limiting participation to regime-affiliated loyalists.
- Endangering the international press and obstructing international observers, by expelling journalists and threatening any foreign presence during what was deemed as "special military operations", with the goal of hiding his actions against Valruzian citizens.
In unanimous agreement, the thirteen Justices of this Court hereby:
CLOSING REMARKS
- Sentence Szczepan Morawski to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole or clemency, for high crimes against the nation, against humanity, and against the democratic order of the Republic.
- Order the immediate release of all personal archives belonging to his personal assests and the full restoration of civil and political rights to those prosecuted under Morawski’s regime, including fair compensation to be provided by the Valruzian government.
- Order the immediate freezing of all of his personal and financial assets, as well as those of his immediate family, and the removal of all the remanent titles attributed to his family.
- Decree the seizure of all assets belonging to Morawski and his immediate collaborators, to be transferred to a newly established National Democratic Reconstruction Fund, dedicated to compensating victims and rebuilding damaged institutions.
- Mandate the continued investigation and prosecution of all individuals involved in the maintenance and operation of the authoritarian regime, under domestic and international law.
- Sentence the removal of Valruzian citizenship to Szczepan Morawski, pending approval by the Sejm and the Valruzian government as stated by the Valruzian nationality law.
This ruling marks the restoration of justice and moral rehabilitation of the Republic of Valruzia. It shall stand as a testament to the unwavering will of its people and their refusal to surrender their freedom against all tyranny.
The Court declares that never again shall a regime of terror reign in Valruzia. The law, and the people to whom it belongs, shall prevail.
Let the record show that this is not merely a condemnation of one man, but the judicial closure of an era of darkness, and the opening of a new chapter founded on liberty, justice, and the rule of law.
So ruled.
