Xsampan National Arrested on Suspicion of Murder in Suman Province

Na Sap, Suman  –– Police in far-eastern Suman province announced today that a man holding dual South Dovanian and Xsampan citizenship, identified in reports by the name Tenzin, has been arrested and charged with the murder of South Dovanian national Aroon Choosak.

In what the arrest report described as a "cowardly execution", Aroon was found dead two nights ago on the outskirts of Na Sap with hands bound in "police-style" handcuffs and shot in the back of the head. Aroon, a Hanzai businessman who owned eleven car washes across Na Sap and nearby towns, was described by friends and family as a "nice man", and no motive for the killing has yet been identified.

It is unclear if or how Aroon knew Tenzin, who was born in Xsampa but a citizen of South Dovani since 5612. Tenzin is a middle-aged day laborer who has had several previous misdemeanor convictions but no history of violent crime. Police are seeking information from the public to ascertain how Tenzin and Aroon may have been connected.

Crime in Suman province has remained relatively common throughout the past decades, primarily centered around the manufacture and distribution of opium. Attempts of varying conviction to harry the drug trade have been made by governments in far-off Udon Nakhon, but with little success. No link between either Aroon or Tenzin has been found to organized crime or the drug trade.
