President Pietrzyk soaring in the polls; Kalistani delegation to be welcomed in Valruzia

With two more years until the next Presidential elections, the latest poll indicates that she could even win reelection in the first round

With two years remaining until the next presidential election, Communist Party leader and current President Karolina Pietrzyk is trying to defy the odds and win reelection, with apparent triumph. The latest Nowogard Institute of Public Affairs poll shows her approval rating at 59%, with 46% of respondents saying they would "definitely" support her reelection—potentially securing a first-round victory, especially after Chancellor Szymon Nowik announced that he had no intention to run for the Presidency as he is focused on retaining the Valruzian government and no other high-profile candidate stealing the lights.

Among the key factors surrounding her steady popularity,  her high-profile mediation in Tukarali's democratic transition and an effective partnership with Chancellor Nowik despite ideological differences are cited among the two main reasons citizens answer when asked about it. Many people still also remember her contributions to write the Valruzian Constitution, where she wrote the preamble and was the main responsible for "the right to State intervention in private companies in the public interest and the facilitation of access by workers to ownership of the means of production were also enshrined in the Constitution".

"She's managed to be somehow both a staunch communist and a pragmatic stateswoman," notes political analyst Tomasz Lendowski. "The public sees her as immune to corruption - a rare quality after the Morawski era".

As Pietrzyk sees her domestic support soaring, Kalistan has announced a major diplomatic action, with the Kalistani delegation heading to Valruzia, lead by its Foreign and Trade ministers, with the objectives of establishing a permanent Kalistani Diplomatic Mission in Nowogard, offer green technology transfers - which the Kalistani government has already announced that will have no patents or no strings attached - and reach agreements to explore joint electric vehicle and aircraft production.

However, it has been noted within the Valruzian political circles the veiled words of the Kalistani Empress when praising Nowik's "resistance against Communism" and calling radical ideologies a threat to national sovereignty. Many have seen this as a veiled critique of Pietrzyk's very own KPW.

When asked about this words and whether they will affect the diplomatic and industrial visit of the Kalistani delegation, President Pietrzyk has declared that she “did not feel alluded by those words,” and assured that the Empress and she “could have a high-level conversation” about the situation in the world in general, and Seleya in particular.

“Now that the Kalistan delegation is on its way to conclude agreements with our government in order to improve the relationship between our nations and reach resolutions beneficial to both countries, I would like to thank the nation of Kalistan for all its help now and previously during the events leading to the final defeat of the Morawski regime and the establishment of our new democracy. I would be happy to reciprocate this visit with another state visit to the great nation of Kalistan, and I am sure that the Empress and I could have a most interesting conversation at the highest level about the situation in which Terra and our continent find themselves.”

The planned schedule for the Kalistani visit includes a tour of Nowogard Semiconductor Park (Valruzia 5700's first flagship project) in the first day, a signing of Nickel Processing Accord at the Chynberg Voivodeship industrial zone on the second and a closed-door meeting with Nowik and Pietrzyk to finalize EV Factory Terms, plus more open treaties to be ratified.

The "Kalistani basket" - as some media has labelled it - includes: Modular solar/wind stations and photovoltaic technology, help in building national EV factory with Kalistani tech, biodiesel-powered light aircraft and mutual collaboration regarding microchips and the use of lithium, steel and bioplastics, among others.

Chancellor Nowik has said that the "generous Kalistani offer" serves as a sign of mutual understanding and cooperation among two nations that understand national sovereignty as a cornerstone of development but which does not necessarily mean isolationism.

"This offer checks for all the main points that we have drawn in the Valruzia 5700 economic plan, and will boost our main priorities, helping us achieving our goals in less time".
