“Kensington Government Falls: Election 5634 Underway”

"Good evening, Hutori. Tonight, history has turned once again under the copper dome of Parliament Hill, as Prime Minister Michael Kensington’s Liberal government has officially collapsed following a dramatic defeat on its own federal budget. In a vote that stunned the House and shattered weeks of speculation, the Prime Minister rose to present what he claimed would be a ‘defining fiscal document for the next decade.’ But when the Speaker called the question, not a single member outside of the Liberal benches stood to support it."

"The result: a failed confidence vote, and with it, the dissolution of Parliament. In accordance with the constitution, Prime Minister Kensington was forced to visit King Charles III at Newport Castle earlier this morning, requesting that His Majesty formally dissolve the 73rd Parliament of Hutori and trigger a snap general election. The King, as expected, accepted."

"The Liberal Party, visibly shaken beneath its confident surface, has wasted no time rallying behind their leader. Kensington was seen entering the Liberal War Room this afternoon with his usual self-assured gait, reportedly asking for a full campaign itinerary and promising to take his message directly to the people. 'The country knows what I’ve delivered,' he told HBC reporters. 'They’ll remember that at the ballot box.'”

"But not everyone inside the campaign is as convinced. Sources close to the Liberal caucus suggest significant behind-the-scenes unease. Party Whip Alana Frewer and Finance Minister Noah Patel were seen in tense closed-door meetings, reportedly frustrated by the Prime Minister’s refusal to acknowledge the threat posed by a resurgent Conservative Party."

"Meanwhile, the Conservative Party of Hutori, fresh off its stunning coordination with the Greens and National Labour in toppling the government, is wasting no time. Leader Rosalyn Woodbury, already drawing comparisons to historic campaigners like Amanda Strauss and Charles Halverson, held her first rally this morning in eastern Kenai. With her sleeves rolled up and campaign map in hand, Woodbury declared: 'We’ll earn every vote, every riding, every province. This isn’t about slogans. This is about service.'”

Republican Leader Warren Douglas, has reportedly returned to Port Prosperity, a Republican stronghold, to shore up swing votes and keep former right-wing voters from splintering the base. Political analysts note this as the only move Douglas has, with his Republican Party having been eaten alive by the resurgent Conservatives, pushing them deep back into single digits in the polls. Republican insiders are at this point simply hoping to hold onto what they have and keep the bleeding from being too bad."

"At the same time, Rachel McKenna, leader of the National Labour Party, wasted no time catching a flight back to her native Roccato, where she’s expected to spend the early days of the campaign locking down strongholds and reinforcing working-class ridings. A disciplined campaigner with deep grassroots appeal, McKenna has already begun rallying local union leaders and municipal mayors."

"And in the west, Green Party Leader Jason LeClerc officially launched his campaign in the heart of Lagard, leaning heavily into climate, conservation, and housing. While LeClerc and McKenna stood beside Woodbury in toppling the budget, both are expected to fiercely contest the Conservatives on issues of ideology and priorities, especially in urban centers."
