HBC SPECIAL BROADCAST — “LEVIATHAN TIDE: FIRE BELOW THE WAVES”

Kalistani Task Force Leviathan
Air Date: January, 5635

VANESSA TAYLOR:
Good evening, I’m Vanessa Taylor — and tonight, we take you inside Leviathan Tide 5635: the largest and most complex naval war game in recent Hutorian history. A show of force. A test of steel. And beneath the waves… a silent battle that left even veteran commanders stunned. For the first time ever, we’re bringing you an exclusive analysis of the exercise that’s redefined the balance of power in the Mad Dog Ocean. Joining us in-studio — retired Royal Navy Commander and HBC military analyst, Elijah Murdoch. Commander, welcome back.

CMD. ELIJAH MURDOCH (Ret.):
Always a pleasure, Vanessa — and this one? This wasn’t just a flex. This was a signal flare across the whole region. Kalistan and Hutori aren’t just allies anymore — they’re an integrated force.

VANESSA:
Let’s break it down for the viewers. Leviathan Tide wasn’t just another exercise. This was a full-spectrum simulation — air, sea, subsurface — over 47 ships, thousands of personnel, and a gameboard the size of the entire Karzon Strait. Let’s start beneath the waves. Hutori’s silent hunters came out to play.

MURDOCH:
Oh, they owned the dark, Vanessa. The Mashacara-class submarines — you’ve heard the name before — but what they pulled off here was textbook domination. They were outnumbered almost 4 to 1 by Kalistani submarines, but still managed to simulate kills on two missile cruisers, a destroyer, and get this — even scored a confirmed simulated strike on Kalistan’s amphibious assault vessel. That’s 12 ASW helicopters gone in one strike. And even when Kalistan did manage to get a firing solution on HMHS Tala — it took a coalition of wolfpacks and helicopters. The RHN came to dance, and they led.

VANESSA:
And up top? It wasn’t all smooth sailing for Hutori, was it?

MURDOCH:
No ma’am, it wasn’t. Kalistani surface commanders pulled off one hell of a flank. In a simulated night raid, they came this close to isolating the Queen Sarah VI. That’s the flagship of the Royal Navy, nearly left unescorted in contested water. Kalistan’s no joke — their asymmetric tactics, limited assets, but razor-sharp instincts? That’s warfighter experience. You can’t simulate that — they live it.

VANESSA:
But in the skies and command decks? RHN brought the thunder.

MURDOCH:
Absolutely. RHN’s air wing, with the HF-35Fs, maintained full airborne coverage for over 36 hours straight. Air and missile defense simulations scored a 94% neutralization rate. That’s near perfect. The Queen Sarah VI battlegroup, coordinated missile defense, layered shielding, rapid-targeting digital systems, they weren’t just simulating defense. They were running the playbook for a real-world, first-strike scenario.

VANESSA:
Commander, let’s talk joint operations. Did Leviathan Tide prove these two navies can really fight as one?

MURDOCH:
Yes — and no. Operationally? Yes. Command integration was tight, fast, and mostly effective. But communication protocols under simulated high-threat density? They jammed.
There’s still a gap in real-time targeting architecture — they’ve got to work on interoperability of their systems. And Kalistan needs to find better ways to plug their ASW into Hutorian carrier ops. But in spirit? Absolutely. They trust each other. You can feel it in the comms logs, in the timing of joint strikes. This wasn’t just an exercise. This was a dress rehearsal.

VANESSA:
And the message to the world?

MURDOCH:
Clear as day: Don’t mess with the Mad Dog Ocean. Not unless you want to deal with both of us. And if you're a potential adversary? You watched your best chance of isolating either one disappear beneath the waves.

VANESSA:
Leviathan Tide. A tide that rose with force, and left a wake the world won’t soon forget. That’s all for tonight’s special broadcast. For deeper analysis and after-action reports, stay with HBC Defence.

From all of us here — good night, and keep watching the water.
