Good morning, Hutori. We come to you with breaking and deeply sorrowful news. The Royal Household has confirmed that His Majesty, King Charles III, has passed away peacefully in his sleep early this morning at Steuart House, the private residence of the Royal Family in suburban Bekenial.”
The King was 64 years old. His health, while never publicly discussed in detail, had quietly declined over the past year, with his daughter, Princess Charlotte, the Grand Duchess of Lagard, increasingly taking on ceremonial and constitutional responsibilities due to her brother, Crown Prince Alexander, the Prince of Adelia, deployment in Kundrati.”
“The Palace has confirmed that the King’s passing was peaceful, with members of the Royal Family at his side, including Queen Kathrine and Crown Prince Alexander. The Prime Minister has been informed, and flags across Hutori are being lowered to half-mast as a period of national mourning begins immediately.”

“Thanks Vanessa. Just moments ago a visibly shaken Prime Minister Rosalyn Woodbury emerged from the Prime Minister’s Office, having been briefed directly by the Privy Council. All parliamentary business has been suspended, done with unanimous consent by the House of Commons. The Prime Minister refused to comment to journalists in West Block, and as soon as Parliament was suspended, left for Steuart House. The Prime Minister Office did release a statement describing King Charles as 'a steadfast guardian of our democracy and a symbol of unity in even the most trubulent of times'. It went on further to off condolences on behalf of all Members of the Hutorian Parliament and the Hutorian people. Back to you Vanessa”

“With the King’s passing, Crown Prince Alexander immediately ascends to the throne as King Alexander III, at barely 39 years of age. His Majesty, who gave the most recent Speech from the Throne just weeks ago, is expected to address the nation later this evening.”
There will be a 21 day period of mourning, which begins today under royal tradition and Hutorian law. The state funeral, which is expected to be widely attended, will take place at Saint Michael's Cathedral here in Bekenial. Stay is us as more of this story develops.
