Sovereign Valruzia wins 5645 elections; KPW becomes first coalition partner not to lose seats

With a record-breaking 81.91% voter turnout, only surpassed by the 5626 Valruzian constituent elections, Valruzia’s fifth democratic elections since the fall of the Morawski regime have solidified Sovereign Valruzia as the nation’s dominant political force and Chancellor Szymon Nowik as the undisputed political leader of the nation, after securing 242 seats and 39.43% of the vote, once again increasing its sharing, this time by almost 3%. But focus were not only in whether Nowik would be able to increase its already big parliamentary group, but also if its coalition partner, the Communist Party of Valruzia, would follow the same paths as its predecessors when they ruled with Sovereign Valruzia. In this case, the KPW made its own history by becoming the first minor coalition parter not only not to lose seats, but to increase both its vote share and its seats (from 19.59% and 119 seats to 133 seats and 21.92%), thanks to its campaign focusing on labor reforms and industrial protection, as well as appealing to the citizens by pointing out how they are the only ones able "to force Nowik's hand".

Many eyes were focused on how will the Forward Valruzia coalition, composed by National Renewal, National Salvation and Agrarian Voice, would perform, following the much-talked Razem presidential scandal of their 5641 Presidential candidate that ended with the elected President being removed from office. Previously, the three parties achieved a 25.5% in the 5640 elections, and any result below 30% would be considered a failure according to political experts, especially taking into account that Nowik had already been in government for three consecutive legislatures. And yet, with 99.99% of the votes counted, the coalition landed in a mere 27.2% and 168 seats, enough to make them the second largest force in parliament but far from what polls had earlier suggested when the coalition was formed, with some of them placing them neck to neck with Sovereign Valruzia at around 35%. And this small increase of less than 2% despite Valruzian Alliance, the far-right Valruzian party, collapsing to 5.3% of the vote and 31 seats after coming from a 10% result in the previous election, losing half their support. The socialdemocrats of Dignity and Progress once again lost seats, falling from 6.2% to 4.8% and 27 seats, which experts attribute to a vote concentration in both the KPW and SW.

Whilst the coalition managed to recover the control of both Chynberg and Gryfit after winning in both regions, the difference in Gryfit was a mere 4% from Sovereign Valruzia, something some political analysts describe as a "catastrophic result" for a coalition of three parties in one of the two Valruzian conservative regions.

But there is another important event following this result: Sovereign Valruzia, the Communist Party of Valruzia and Dignity and Progress now hold 2/3 of the seats in the Sejm after winning 402 seats out of 601, one above the Constitutional majority. This means that now an agreement between the three parties is enough to modify the Valruzian Constitution or, as an example, they wouldn't have needed to help of other parties to remove a sitting President from office.

Government conversations are expected to be initiated once acting President Tatjana Borkowska tasks the main candidate - Szymon Nowik - with the duty of searching for a working majority. Internal sources from Sovereign Valruzia point to a new coalition agreement with the KPW, but this time appointing ministers from the communist party, as this was previously stated by the KPW's new leader Lucjan Mirski, to whom many attributes the good result of the KPW, which under this election has become its best result to date. Many point out to his charismatic figure, on pair with that of Nowik, for the resistance against the "purple tide" of Sovereign Valruzia.

But people have also shown that there is no space in our nation for traitors, for cowards that prioritize their own political benefit over the needs and desires of our population. We will make sure this never happens again."
