President Meliton Addresses the nation: Says Lodamun started this, we will end it

President Meliton has today issued an address to the nation amidst an ongoing crisis in the region, this follows on from an agreement with Beiteynu to base its fleet in Hobrazia.
President Meliton has made clear in his address that his government wants a lasting peace and agrees that Artania should be free of foreign interference, but that can only be achieved if both nations de-escalate tensions and step back from the brink.

Quote:My fellow Hobrazians, it is at times like these when we must all make difficult choices, that is what my presidency has been all about making the difficult choices. Recently we came to an agreement with Beiteynu to locate its military fleet in Hobrazia I would like to thank Beiteynu for their continued cooperation, many nations have jumped on the bandwagon of condemning Beiteynu yet they fail to condemn and call for the withdrawal of Lodamun. It is Lodamun who started this and we are ending it. Let me be clear Lodamun must cease hostilities immediately and withdraw, they must immediately stop sending maritime patrol drones over the migrants pass they have no place at all and do not belong in Artania. I will now move on to some of the reckless statements released by certain nations which have been inaccurate and deeply unhelpful Xsampa is factually wrong to say Yishelm is "terrorizing Hobrazia" as just one example I ask Xsampa to correct the record immediately, that being said however we welcome any realistic attempts to mediate peace. This government has said time and again that we do not actively seek war and conflict with any nation but we will not hesitate to defend our interests in Hobrazia or indeed overseas, war is in no ones interests we all wish to see a free and peaceful Artania, our priority is keeping you safe and we stand resolute in that mission which is why we are stepping up our investments in our military capabilities. Let me conclude with this, Beiteynu is a stabilizing force in the region, Hobrazia will continue to remain in contact with our allies and partners. We must remember peace however distant is still possible we will continue to choose the path of peace. Hobrazia calls on all parties to de-escalate and step back from the brink.
