Valruzia's capital preparing ahead for the international sport event

Mayor of Nowogard Alicja Biejat (Sovereign Valruzia) say Games will be "dope"

There's a bit more than three years before the I Northern Seleyan Games take place in Nowogard, Valruzia's capital city, but its mayor Alicja Biejat is personally making sure everything is running "smoothly and on schedule".

Biejat, from the same party as Chancellor Szymon Nowik, believes that the Games are a great opportunity not only to bring together "the greatest athletes from Northern Seleya", but also a way to showcase Valruzia's rich culture, and she wants to make sure every detail is perfectly chosen and perfected.

The logo presented by the Valruzian Northern Seleya Games committee displays Northern Seleya's silhouette surrounded by eight stars - each representing one of NS eight nations - with four different colors representing different aspects of sport competitions: yellow representing energy, blue representing concentration and stamina, red representing strength, passion and determination and green representing balance and harmony, everything on top of a golden laurel wreath representing victory. 

For the purpose of the event, the Valruzian government has confirmed the construction of many sport venues for those events that lack proper places it's on its way, with the Northern Star Stadium set to become Valruzia's largest stadium with a capacity of over 90,000 and a retractable roof, set to host the opening ceremony and athletics events, and
the Nowogard velodrome and cycling park - set to be named Revolution Park to serve as a green park surrounding the high-speed track for biking competitions.
"We want these facilities to serve Valruzia for decades, not just two weeks" Biejat stated during a press tour. "It is important that these things we build do not become obsolete in a matter of years, but rather that our citizens can keep enjoying them for many decades or even centuries to come".

Alongside the sporting events, Nowogard is set to host a month-long cultural festival that among others things will feature traditional music and dance performances from all eight participating nations, an international food fair, to highlight Northern Seleyan cuisine and an international art exhibition at the National Valruzian Gallery, with more events to be announced as the date comes closer.

"The Games are more than medals and competing nations - they’re and should serve as a bridge between our cultures"

said Konrad Zieliński, head of the NSG Cultural Committee.

Valruzia has pledged to make the I Northern Seleyan Games as greenest as possible, with the ministry of Environment unveiling initiatives such as a 100% renewable energy for all venues, powered by Valruzia’s wind farms and the future so-calle "Athletes’ Forest", which will be a park in the heart of the city with one tree for every competitor - which later will receive their own certificate -, thus creating a lasting green legacy.

"The delegations from Kalistan, Baltusia, Tukarali and Lodamun are already getting in touch with their athletes to test whether they can get a shot at the Games. There's still a long time to go, but the sooner we have everything wrapped, the better for all of us. Mark my words: this will be the most dope sporting event Seleya has ever seen"

Mayor Biejat declared with a grin.

With ticket sales set to be launched in 5649, one year ahead of the Games, expectation around them is building, and the city expects more than 20 million visitors for the duration of the Games.
