CHANCELLOR REINSTITUTES GRAND IMAN

Chancellor’s Office, May 17, 5647:  During a wide ranging interview on his plans for the government, the Monsoon asked Chancellor Khalifi al-Qassem what was going to be done about Israi - Abadi relations, and he replied.
 

We are going to try something the Hizb Muasisiun tried when they were in charge many years ago.  We recognize there is a problem but think it is manageable.  The minority Abadi believe the Israi are always favored, their own beliefs and wishes are stifled, and the system always works against them. They also tend to think the Dufazi may be banned or massacred and their clergy jailed.
 
 The Israi believe the Abadi are always ready to have their version of religion trample on the law common to all citizens and to form paramilitary units and religious thought police to violently threaten them.
 
My office has been talking to the Abadi Grand Ayatollah of Abu Yacub and the Israi Grand Mufti of Dar as-Salam about reviving the Hizb Muasisiun idea of a Grand Iman of Bab -al-Mira, the holiest city in all Ahmadism.  Our nation by law recognizes Ahmadism as the state religion.
 
The idea is the Grand Iman would be the head of the Ahmadi Church of Badara.  Chosen for seven years by first the Grand Ayatollah and then the Grand Mufti.  We believe this would show the government supports both Abadi and Israi and engender some mutual respect and trust.  It worked  to some extent many years ago and we believe it is worth trying now.
