TLD REACTION TO ELECTION RESULTS

Bundestag, November 19, 5652: ODERVELD – LEUCHTFEUER asked former Interior Minister Gunther Krancke, leader of  Team Liberaldemokraten (TLD), what he thought the likelihood of a new governing coalition was in the wake of the recent elections, and Krancke responded:
 

In all honesty, the TLD thinking is that Chancellor Jorg Berger will ask another party to join the DSDP-GPP-DSU governing coalition.  Do not think that would be the Dundorfische Rote Front (DRF) because there is every reason to believe their policy demands would be too great. Nationalizing all defense contractors for instance.
 
We realize President Juliane Offenbach is in somewhat of a quandary because it is not clear whether she should ask Chancellor Berger or the NDZP’s former Chancellor Erica Kleinfelder to form a government so this could take a while.
 
Absent DRF involvement, mathematically two things are clear. First,  there can not be a center – left or center - right government this time.  Second, either DSDP or NDZP or both must be in any majority government.
 
I will say this.  TLD lost seats but not catastrophically so our main focus is on improving our relation to our constituency.  With that said and understood, TLD is not ruling out joining a governing coalition if asked.
