Ersangi to become the university town and the educational hub of Bianjie

ERSANGI: It's not a secret that the government has been open about their intentions to increase the quality of life in the nation, through many different tools, like investment in the infrastructure, healthcare, jobs, and most importanly, education. And earlier this week, exactly the latter became the topic of discussion, with the Ministry of Education, provincial and city administrations of Muduria and Ersangi, respectively, announcing that Ersangi, provincial capital of Muduria will become Bianjie's newest university town, with the State Council attributing up to 750 million y'an to the local administration in Ersangi to help with the major project of transforming the city of just 89 thousand people into a modern university town, expected to attract students from all over the Bianjie and beyond, across the southern Dovani region.

In the heart of this project, and the reasoning as if to why the State Council chose Ersangi is one of the best performing universities in the nation, Ersangi University of Technology (EUT), home to almost 8 thousand students living in the central and northern provinces of Bianjie, already establishing itself as the major regional science hub. According to the education minister Logiya, EUT presence already provides enough academic resources and infrastructure, to just go off and expand out of it into even bigger and stronger education hub. "What we are doing here is simply helping Ersangi out by rightfully recognising its status as the major academic point of our nation. We are not gonna simply erect new buildings, we are putting forward a plan, that will use already existing numbers and people, and transform it into a steady and sustainable growth", Logiya said.

The project, called "The City of Knowledge", include a detailed plan of the expansion of the existing infrastructure and provision of required necessities for the students and locals. Among those is the construction of new campuses for the EUT, specifically aimed at the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Faculty of Engineering, as well as the new reasearch centres and innovation hubs in those and other faculties of the university. The construction of up to 150 new dormitories for the students, both current and future, with rent subsidies or price cuts for the low-income students and students coming to EUT from places beyond provice of Muduria. "It is highly important that we create an affordable environment for our current and future students. They must spend their savings on the books, researches, and personal lives, but not on something that is a right of every single human being", mayor of Ersangi Nikan Arurote. Also, for more than 20 years now, Ersangi has already been connected to the international railway line between Bianjie and neigbouring Xsampa, called Xsa-Bia Railway (XBR), with the line connecting capital cities of two nations, and other secondary cities, including Ersangi. The connection of the local transit to the railway, allowing for easier and more accessible movement for students coming from afar, or internationally, like those from Xsampa, for example. At the time, within the city itself, there will be the expansion of current public bus lines, in addition to the construction of tram lines between campuses and dormitories, with cheap prising for students.

"Clearly, we will also make sure students have a job in the city, and we will create all required conditions for the businesses opening and thriving in the city, by allowing tax incentives for the next five years, starting today. Besides, we are ready to help students open their own small business in Ersangi, because we believe that students themselves could know better. We believe in the "by the students, for the students" model, and that is how we will operate", said mayor Arurote.

"The City of Knowledge" project is aimin to double the student population of the Muduria provincial capital by 5660, to be not only national, but regional, if not continental centre of education, science and research, with ideas of hosting regional summits in the city, while still being an important benchmark in urban-academic cooperation in Bianjie. "Ersangi will not be a simple university town just based around one university, it will be a living and learning ecosystem, that will be thriving on its own, later on, that's what we hope for with this", finished minister Logiya.
