Luthori and Istalia renew their friendship and open the door to a strategic economic agreement

ROMULA - A long-awaited visit has now finally materialized. Emperor Richard II and Empress Valeria of Luthori have arrived in Istalia for a state visit of the highest geopolitical profile. Organized by the two Imperial Houses and their respective Foreign Ministries, the visit was described by the Luthorian embassy as a moment of rebirth of the friendship that Luthori and Istalia once shared.

The journey of the imperial couple, accompanied by their family, began with their arrival at Torre Torrida military airport, where they were welcomed by Imperial Grand Prince Tommaso and Imperial Grand Princess Melissa, heirs to the Istalian throne. From there, the procession headed to Romula, where the Luthorian Emperors were officially received by His Imperial Majesty Alessandro V and Empress Claudia, in an atmosphere of great cordiality and solemnity.

The first day concluded with a state banquet in the halls of Quattroregni Palace, during which both sovereigns gave speeches that highlighted the affinities between the two countries. Emperor Richard II emphasized "the similarities between the Luthorian and Istalian peoples, particularly in the role of constitutional monarchies and the common adherence to democratic values", also recalling their profound shared cultural heritage.

The second day of the visit was packed with institutional meetings and symbolic events. The Emperor and Empress of Luthori visited some of Romula's most important historical and religious sites: the Amphitheater of Alsemet the Great, the Patriarchal Archbasilica of Saint Matthias Baptist at the Walls, seat of the High Hierarchy of Auroranism in Istalia, where Emperor Richard met with the Patriarch of Istalia, Solentia, and Quanzar, a sign of Luthori's particular attention to religious dialogue.

Cultural stops were also included, including visits to the National Museum of Istalian History and the National Gallery of Modern Art, demonstrating the imperial couple's interest in Istalian heritage. Official escorts during these meetings, whether by the Istalian imperial couple or the heirs to the throne, were handled discreetly by the Istalian Imperial House, in accordance with the protocol agreed upon with Luthori.

In the afternoon, Empresses Claudia and Valeria visited an association dedicated to supporting women victims of violence, abuse, or trauma. This initiative is part of the ongoing commitment of Empress Valeria, honorary president of the Luthorian Women's Organization, to the protection of women in her domains, particularly in Luthori and Mordusia. This commitment is also shared by the women of the Istalian Imperial House, which is the patron of some of the major Istalian associations fighting against the abuse of women and for equal rights. In parallel, Emperors Alessandro and Richard met with representatives of veterans' organizations, honoring in particular the veterans of the War of Unification and visiting a memorial dedicated to the fallen.

But beyond the renewed friendship and the symbolism of the visit, the Luthorian sovereigns' journey to Istalia also marks the formal beginning of negotiations for a bilateral economic and trade agreement. This has been discussed for years in the chancelleries of Romula and Fort William, but now, with the solemn backdrop of the imperial visit, the operational phase finally begins.

Such an agreement would represent a historic achievement for both nations, among the most developed and influential globally. The axis between Istalia and Luthori could become a strategic hub for economic relations between Majatra and Artania, strengthening ties between the global North and South and reinforcing the vision of an increasingly global, polycentric, and interconnected Istalian economy.

After years of focusing on Seleya, Dovani, and Majatra, Luthori now appears as a new key partner in Artania, destined to assume an increasingly central role in Istalian economic and diplomatic projection strategies. An example of this is the possible duplication in Luthori of one of ICM Terra Terminals' major logistics hubs, previously planned for Kundrati, a country currently reeling from a profound financial crisis.

The imperial visit will conclude with a final private meeting at the Luthorian embassy, where the Emperor and Empress will personally greet all diplomatic personnel before departing for Luthori.

In a world shaken by tensions and uncertainties, the meeting between two of the oldest constitutional imperial monarchies appeared as a powerful signal of stability and cooperation, but also the beginning of a new phase in bilateral relations, destined to leave its mark both in the palaces and in the markets.
