TEA launches the "AEON V1RGO": a new global standard for computing power
Extreme performance, affordable prices, and a rapidly expanding ecosystem: with the AEON series, TEA aims to revolutionize every area of hardware, from quantum AI to home automation

CAŁEON - TEA (Tecnologie Elettroniche Avanzate), the well known Istalian microelectronics engineering giant, today unveiled the TEA "AEON V1RGO", the first model in a new generation of microprocessors set to rewrite global standards for performance, efficiency, and affordability. With this announcement, TEA not only officially enters the post-nanometer era, but is doing so as a leading player, promising a disruptive impact on the entire technology ecosystem.
The new AEON V1RGO is a concentrate of advanced engineering: built on a 3nm-class EUV manufacturing process, it uses a multi-tiered chiplet architecture, with the high-performance Nirurta-X core and the high-efficiency Falcon-L core, capable of handling mixed workloads in critical environments, from data centers to edge devices. The chip is equipped with 16 Nirurta-X cores and 32 Falcon-L cores , for a total of 48 logical cores on HSA (Heterogeneous System Architecture) architecture; 1 TB/s of internal bandwidth thanks to the new TEA-telo 5 bus; TEA-Oculus x8 integrated GPU, with 128 graphics cores and support for Ray Tracing, DirectCompute and 8K rendering; dedicated on-die AI module, for local real-time inference; superior thermal efficiency with up to 20% lower thermal dissipation than current top-of-the-line products thanks to dynamic workload management and power gating technologies; native support for DDR5-X RAM and PCIe 5.0 and CXL 2.5 interfaces.
The AEON truly appears to be a true engineering masterpiece, ready to go where no microprocessor has yet dared.
But the TEA AEON V1RGO is just the beginning. The AEON series represents a scalable modular platform designed to cover every area of modern computing: from workstations to ultra-light notebooks, from smartphones to embedded devices for home automation and robotics, and even next-generation consoles. Each chip in the family will be designed to integrate customizable features, with support for hybrid operating systems, AR/VR technologies, machine vision, blockchain computing, and even high-precision military or scientific simulation environments.
During the presentation of the V1RGO processor, TEA executives emphasized how the company is already focused on the next technological challenges. While the V1RGO represents the state of the art in Istalian microelectronics, TEA is already developing a new generation of key technologies that will evolve it, like the transition to the 2nm-class EUV+ process, with higher density and lower power consumption; the adoption of CXL 3.0 for more efficient memory sharing between CPU, GPU, and accelerators; the design of the new TEA-telo 6 bus, with internal bandwidth exceeding 1.5 TB/s; a new generation of high-performance Nirurta-Z cores, based on advanced superscalar architectures; and finally, a new generation of the TEA-Oculus GPU, with native support for 12K rendering, dynamic ray tracing, and machine learning hybrid shading. This is accompanied by the increasingly advanced integration of neural modules, with neural-scale AI engines designed for real-time edge inference.
But the AEON family is just one of the projects on which TEA is investing. Derived by the AEON but with its own architectural identity, there is the developement of "MORFEON", a next-generation neural processing unit dedicated to accelerating AI and machine learning processes, designed with a dynamic synaptic neural architecture. Developed in collaboration with VerTech, MORFEON will be able to train and infer deep, dynamic neural networks in real time, directly on-device; manage advanced computer vision, including holographic and three-dimensional environmental recognition; support hybrid and quantum convolutional neural networks; and provide native support for integration into autonomous robotic environments, intelligent biomedical devices, and automated driving platforms.
The collaboration between TEA and VerTech, which began years ago, is thus establishing itself as one of the most fruitful in the global tech landscape. Among the most striking results of the TEA-VerTech collaboration is the experimental "Somnium" processor, a prototype hybrid quantum microprocessor, which two years ago has captured the interest of the scientific community and enthusiasts of the so-called quantum awakening.
Based on topological-state photonic qubits, the Somnium processor marked a key moment in the transition between classical and quantum computing. No longer a mere proof-of-concept, the Somnium is now at the center of the parallel but complementary "QEURON Project", involving the University of Buria and the Institute for Advanced Computational Research of Milan (IRACM), a QPU based on the quantum circuit and quantum logic gate-based model of computing.
The University of Buria is currently developing, together with IRACM, the "Mentia" platform, a modular distributed supercomputer with a projected computing power exceeding 150 exaFLOPS, designed to integrate hybrid quantum architectures and the Somnium-derived processor it is expected to become its beating heart within the next three years.
In parallel, the "Verbum" supercomputer, designed and built by VerTech with the cooperation of the most prestigious university and reserach institution, and largely financed too by the State, as an exclusive platform for evolutionary simulations, neural prediction, and autonomous computational ecosystems, will also integrate the new quantum-technical architecture currently under development that could make it become the most powerful of its kind. The "Verbum" will be available to VerTech, of course, and therefore to institutional players, research centers and other companies. But VerTech isn't stopping there and predicts that as the technologies improve, different types of quantum processors to be born from the cooperation with TEA, from 5 to 20 qubits, will be available for public use through its cloud.
Both projects will be incorporated into the emerging "Rete Supercomputazionale Diffusa Istaliana" (RSDI), a distributed infrastructure capable of connecting universities, research centers, industrial laboratories, and public and private AI networks in real time.
This impressive acceleration has undoubtedly been made possible by TEA's industrial policy, which has fully verticalized its supply chain. Thanks to strategic investments in rare earth mines, clean extraction technologies, and proprietary refineries, TEA guarantees autonomous and sustainable access to key resources such as neodymium and dysprosium. This approach not only lowers production costs but also guarantees unprecedented strategic resilience compared to global industry giants. In other words, TEA is independent and can afford to offer the best at unthinkable prices.
The launch of the TEA AEON V1RGO marks the beginning of a new era not only for Istalian microelectronics, but for the entire global industry. If the promises are kept, and everything indicates they will be, we are witnessing the computing equivalent of a turning point: the dawn of total computing.
