CLOVISPORT - 11 FEBRUARY 5661 - With efforts to restore Likatonia's government and industries underway, several analysts in Clovisport are wondering the direction of the nation's foreign policy. With all parts of the federal government now occupied with their own tasks, Barry Jones the Secretary of International Affairs has called upon the assistance of the Secretary of General Affairs, Violet Davison to decipher what may be one of the Federal Government's most daunting tasks. With the passing of the Kundrati War and Likatonia's own involvement, Jones has decided to lead Likatonia down a path of neutrality, guided by ideals of diplomacy, and dominated by a regionalist perspective. Barry Jones who seems to hold this position close to his own personal values has opted to avoid digging up the failures of the past and instead focus on improving the nation's current destiny. Barry Jones and the Department of International Affairs have already been in discussions with nearby nations on the path to reforge new relationships. 

Secretary of General Affairs, Violet Davison, Fitzgerald's right-hand woman, has stated that she does not intend to stay focused on the nation's grievances when discussing policy within the Federal Government. At a recent meeting with Secretary Jones at Bolton Hall, Davison made clear that Likatonia, while acknowledging its distasteful actions in the past, would simply not engage with those not interested in a new relationship. Davison stated that Jones was "not interested in negotiations or meeting with powers that simply mean to use Likatonia as a platform to further advance their own hateful rhetoric". Policy from Clovisport would only entertain nations who are willing to engage in a peaceful, amiable, and diplomatic manner. It is not to say that Davison and Jones are hoping to reimagine or erase Likatonia's history in the war, but are keen to keep it away from diplomatic missions. Jones' position on Likatonia's standing is to improve it, not keep it in the gutters where it has exited for the past few decades. Jones is set on implementing policies that show learning and healing from past administrations and move forward in a way that would be diplomatically healthy for the nation. Yet, that is not to say Jones is willing to simply forget the causes of Likatonia's failure.

While insistent on "purity diplomacy" and hoping to mend Likatonia's image, Secretary Jones has also vowed to keep Likatonia distant from Artanian politics and relationships. Continuing on his statements from the Kundrati War, Jones stated that Likatonia was not interested in maintaining deep-rooted relationships with nations on the Artanian continent. Likatonia's regionalist focused would more align itself with nations such as Gaduridos and Valruzia when considering "close partners". While Likatonia has not visited or hosted any foreign officials yet, Jones and Davison are already planning several meetings to begin to establish a solid foreign policy. Davison states, in response to Jones' regional considerations, that "Likatonia is in a position where it cannot dictate regional affairs, but instead become a part of it. So far, we have looked at several options to begin to introduce ourselves into the continent and once again be an active member of the international community. While we hope to keep our ideals of neutrality in our future, we do not wish to remain isolated and become victims to a conflict that happened decades ago."
