Social democrats lose a couple of deputies, but retain a one-party majority in Congress

In an election, faced with major issues and topics like internationalist shift of the ruling party, policies to help the diaspora, an international scandal involving Istalia and Kalistan, as well as the possible resignation of PM García and anti-corruption efforts in the state-owned enterprises, the ruling Seleyan Social Democratic Party has won yet another solo majority, securing a third quinquenio in office, with its leader and current Prime Minister, Ximona García, being re-elected for five more years, after she pledged to lead the party, but did not rule out possible resignation mid-term due to the health concerns.

With 130 seats, and even though it is thirteen fewer than in the previous 5658 election, PSSG still holds onto their majority, with a possibility of negotiations with other left-of-centre parties like green agrarian MAP or regionalist VU, to provide confidence and supply for the social democrats, for a more stable majority, the party's secretary-general Jatziri Lara Camacho told the press after the final results being announced by the National Electoral Institute (INE).

Among the major growers of this election are the centre-right parties, primarily, the Commitment to Gaduridos (CxG), which has been renewed for yet another election by its constituent member parties: Reform Party and the Radicals. Andres Duran de la Cruz, leader of the coalition and the Radical Party, thanked the voters for "strengthening the opposition front" with 12 new deputies in the lower chamber of Gaduridos' legislature, the National Congress, increasing their parliamentary represenation from just 60 members of parliament, which because the worst result of both parties in recent history, to 72. According to de la Cruz, such rapid growth of the opposition alliance shows that "people are getting tired of reckless populist promises and policies of socialdestructoras (social destroycrats)".

PDH, which once parted its ways with both parties, and became increasingly pro-third position, by not siding with either the left or the right, suddenly began to change, with sources within the party saying its members are considering to push the leadership to join CxG, something which could be a major shift in party's behaviour and ideology. When El MM asked the leader of the hosian democrats, Briselda Fuentas, whether she knew anything about the growing movement in the party, she replied that the leadership council is open for discussions, but as of right now, there are no open negotiations about it, and moreover, the majority of PDH does not support a turn towards the right-wing coalition.

Now, with a renewed and relatively stable majority in both chambers of the Parliament, Garcíanist forces will face five more years of tough challenges, including the chaos and division unfolding in Rildanor, with close allies of Gaduri chief of government, as well as the PM herself, allegedly, being unhappy with the position the Imperial Chancellery in Kaliburg is taking towards the new government in Rildanor. In addition, García has to prepare the nation and her own party for a stable transfer of power somewhere during her term, without letting social democrats lose support, if she wishes her party to win again in five years.
