SDP loses mandate, HKA takes the reigns.
October, 5660 (Backdated)
For the first time in their recent political history, the Social Democratic Party of Dorvik is unlikely to be in government. State Chancellor Marco Hardt has conceded that the Social Democratic Party has failed to obtain a "commanding mandate" in the October, 5660 State Council elections, losing 94 seats and just taking a total of 178 seats total in the State Council. The leader of the Hosian-Conservative Alliance, which won a total of 152 seats, Andreas Knoerr, announced that after the officials results were reported from the Ministry of the Interior, they began wide-ranging coalition talks, notably with the Free Conservative Party which came in third place with 94 seats; it is likely that the historical Social Nationalist Party will provide support and be a junior coalition member if rumors are to be believed. The SNP came in fifth place with 48 seats, increasing their share but keeping them far from playing kingmakers in government. The leader of the Dorvish Workers' Party noted he would be supportive of a Hosian-Conservative Alliance lead government with Knoerr as the State Chancellor but would remain critical of the government should they fail to uphold their mandate. The Dorvish Workers' Party came in fourth with 63 seats; just ahead of the SNP; a large number of former independents joined mainstream political parties lowering the independent members in the State Council to just 15.
It is likely that the Hosian-Conservative Alliance will join with the Free Conservative Party and the Social Nationalist and form a majority government that will have a total of 294 seats shy of the 337 needed for a supermajority. His Majestic Highness, the King and Kaiser, Franz II, welcomed the Knoerr to form a government in his name and he believes firmly that the coalition agreement will take place in the coming days.
