After a little more than half of the term of President Siske Ossel polling numbers for the next election have started to be published by market research groups. Expectedly the successful administration is ought to get a major voter confidence boost in the upcoming elections as the VVP is expected to increase their vote-share by 5 percentage points at the cost of the Thallerist Conservative Party as well as the GRP. While the losses the center-left Grand Reform Party can expect are marginal due to the fact they were able to merge with green-liberal Alliance 600 they’re still miles away from reaching for power. Some speculate that its just not the spirit of the time, others explain the difference due to infighting in the center and center-left, meaning that the Democratic Republicans are blocking a major left-wing victory. As it stands now the Senate elections are going to bring more VVP mandates and expert observers of the Legislature are sure that the VVP are almost certainly going to continue their working agreement with the Thallerists.

Even more clear is the potential presidential race between incumbent Siske Ossel and her GRP rival Lehmmann. The President leads by more than 30 points and enjoys broad electoral approval. Ossel manages a fine balance between enjoying political capital wins due to the successes her administration are responsible for while not getting connected to other more controversial projects like the gradual reduction of the already – comparatively – basic social welfare programs. Her popularity with popular and boulevard media also helps her keep the view of her in a lighthearted way. In any case, without any major shakeups it seems like a certain VVP victory and a continuation of the current path.
