Melikvan receives its first ever Ponto-Yeudi mayor and Gor II Derovyan becomes mayor in Victoria.

In the last local elections we saw a bit of a change, more support for local parties then the national parties, while Nor Vahan is the winner with 10 mayors, we see the 2 biggest cities fallen in hands of local initiatives. Melikvan 1 of the 2 boggest cities has chosen for a local party, surprisingly also a yeudi local initiative, while in Victoria the second of the biggest cities has chosen for Gor II Derovyan, wich raises questions of conflicts of intrests.

Mikayel Nahmanyan will be the first ever yeudi mayor for Melikvan of the local iniative Arev Shalom. Mikayel is bussinessman born and raised in Melikvan and he has many connections with other enterprises, who eventually also helped sponsoring his program. Mikayel set up the intiative to build bridges between Pontesians and yeudi communities to connect them and fight for both their interests. Mikayel talked to our reporter: 

I am here today for the good of Ponto-Yeudi's, but also for every Pontesian living in Melikvan, for those who want to start a bussiness should be rewarded and not punished, but also even though big companies are welcome here, we need more local bussiness thriving. That is a huge challenge for the next counsil and we will work day and night to archieve our goal. We need to respect Pontesian culture and traditions, but not forget our own, we are Ponto-Yeudi's, but we our also proud yeudi's and our religion is outer most important, that is why we need more bridges to connect both our communities.

In victoria, the richest city of Pontesi, the people have chosen Gor II derovyan of a local liberal party, wich has raised questions of conflict of interest, as Gor II Derovyan is the son Ara Derovyan, grandson of Gor DErovyan founder of Derovyan L&Tthe biggest logistics and transport company of Pontesi with its headoffice in Verin Hayk financial district of victoria. It has raised question, if there is a conflict of interests as Gor II Derovyan has shares in the company and holds a seat in the counsil of the company, but as he has said that he will not uphold his seat and chose a replacement for him in the counsil, he also stated that he will not sell his shares as it is a family company and he is proud of his ancestors. Furthermore he stated that he will act in the interest of Victoria and make next to the richest city, also the most beautifull one.
