The conservatives cement their control over the Supreme Court as they appoint three new justices, Sofiya Doroshenko reelected chief of justice: another win for Petrograd

Spask, Lesnov. It has been less than a year since the 5670 confederal elections were held and the HMDP supermajority was installed in the CoJ yet new changes are already happening in Nadiya's highest court. The 14-member court saw its last remaining 3 openly progressive justices hit their term limit and be forced to resign, which opened their seats for the appointment of new justices by the CoJ. The judicial chamber immediately began the process of elimination and filtering of the potential candidates proposed by the different confederal parties on the criteria set by the constitution, those being a doctorate in constitutional law, 10 years of experience as a judge, and full independence in regards to rulings, this led to the last remaining contenders being the ones picked by the HMDP and they easily secured the required votes for their appointment. Shortly after the new justices were installed, the Supreme Court held an ordinary session in which Sofiya Doroshen was reelected as chief justice of the confederation and president of the supreme court, Sofiya is notorious for her socially conservative stances against men's rights and her sympathy for the centralization movement because of her being one of the few justices who sided with the government over the question of ownership and operation rights. During her appreciation speech following the vote, Doroshen expressed her commitment to upholding the principles of the Treaty of Zarvospol and the Revolution October Declaration which both state Nadiya's promise to never suffer the same fate as Trigunia and to never fall into the authoritarian pipeline of the Tsardom, she also added "My resolve toward upholding justice and freedom across Nadiya has never faltered ever since I was elected chief justice, it is that same resolve that drives each and every one of us to fulfill our duty to the confederation and its people without betraying our own beliefs for a Nadiya that evolves with time and the world." Sofiya's reelection marks the cementing of conservative control and since 8 of the justices are expected to hit their term limits by 5675, another round of HMDP appointments is expected as long as the party maintains its supermajority in the CoJ.
